Nutrition for infants suffering
from acute diarrhoea
GASTRO-FIX®
is
a special food designed for
infants suffering from acute
diarrhoea.
GASTRO-FIX®
should be used for a limited
period – about a week (until
bowel movements become regular
once again).
Once the child has been
rehydrated, it serves as
transitional nourishment until
the child’s digestive tract is
again able to tolerate normal
food.
It is used in the same way as
other preparations for infants.
However, by contrast to other
preparations,
GASTRO-FIX®
may be used in normal
concentrations immediately after
rehydratation.
Following this transition, it is
recommended that the typical
food prior to the outbreak of
diarrhoea, for
example the infant milk formulas
BIOMIL® 1 or 2,
be reintroduced on a gradual
basis.
GASTRO-FIX®
does not contain lactose. It is
easy to digest and may be
consumed from birth. It has a
pleasant taste, affording it
higher acceptability.
